Day 1: ARRIVE ATHENS (D)
Welcome to Athens, where we enter the world of the New Testament. Here, St Paul and his companions established the first Christian communities. We begin our journey together over a warm Welcome Dinner.

Day 2: ATHENS & CORINTH (BD)
The Athenians - Paul came to teach the philosophers that there is in fact a God who is real and can be known!
Enjoy a fascinating tour of Christian Athens this morning where St Paul’s heroism will be revealed as we observe the very sites in which he began to preach including the Acropolis, Areopagus, and the Ancient Agora. The Corinthians - It was here the Lord spoke to Paul and told him to ‘speak … no one will attack you’ (Acts 18:9-10); many were baptized and came to believe. This afternoon we explore Ancient Corinth where Paul lived for two years and see the Rostrum from where he preached. Visit the Peirene Fountain, Temple of Apollo and finally we come to the ancient port of Cenchreae where Paul bid farewell to the believers.
Mass Setting: Ancient Corinth Outdoor

Day 3: EMBARK CRUISE SHIP / MYKONOS (BLD)
We board our spectacular 3-night Greek Island Cruise! Sail to the quaint isle of Mykonos, where we explore the charming walkways and boutique shops at our own pace. Return for dinner and our evening activities.
Mass Setting: On board Cruise Ship

Day 4: CRUISE SHIP – EPHESUS & PATMOS EXCURSIONS (BLD)
The Ephesians - The preaching of Paul had an enormous impact on the community during his 3 ½ year stay.
Awake in the stunning port city of Kusadasi, our gateway to ancient Ephesus. We explore the community of St Paul and the Ephesians as we stroll through the pages of scripture as never before. Cruise on to the holy island of Patmos to pray at the cave where St John wrote the Book of Revelation. Visit the Upper Monastery perched high on the hill.
Mass Setting: House of the Virgin Mary, Ephesus

Day 5: CRUISE SHIP – CRETE AND SANTORINI (BLD)
The Cretans - Paul spent time here with Titus addressing some issues and installing elders in the church (Titus 1:5).
Greeted by its dazzling harbor, we disembark at Heraklion, Crete and take the day to explore the ancient treasures preserved within this vibrant island. Visit to the Archaeological Museum or the Minoan Palace before we cruise on to breathtaking Santorini.
Mass Setting: Crete

Day 6: VIA DELPHI TO METEORA (BD)
The Delphites - The ancient gods became silent when Christianity arrived and by the 5th century AD a Christian community resided here.
Disembark our ship in Athens and venture north to the ancient city of Delphi. We take a guided tour including the Sanctuary of Apollo and the intriguing Museum whose relics reveal the city’s story of transformation from the worship of pagan gods to a lively Christianity. Later today we enter the monastic world of Kalambaka built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks of Meteora.
Mass Setting: Delphi

“Even now, when I recall the particular places that I have entered, I find it too overwhelming to contemplate it for long.” — Nick Moloney

Day 7: METEORA EXPLORATION (BD)
The Monastics - The Meteora monasteries were inspired by the monks’ love of God and a life striving to become open to the Fathers heart through monastic life and asceticism.
We spend some time today marvelling at this unique phenomenon of nature – 24 perpendicular rocks where 600 years ago, Byzantine monks chose to build their cave-like Monastic community of Meteora. We will visit some of these living monasteries by foot and view their extraordinary collection of priceless religious frescoes.
Mass Setting: Meteora

Day 8: VIA BEREA TO KAVALA (BD)
The Bereans - The Jews ‘received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures daily to study the merits of all Paul had preached to them.’ (Acts 17:11).
Pause at Berea today to commemorate St Pauls affinity with these people. Visit the Bema from which St Paul preached and made great headway. Onwards to the charming port city of Kavala, once named “Christoupolis” after being the first European city to accept Christianity.
Mass Setting: Outdoor in Berea

Day 9: PHILIPPI & KAVALA (BD)
The Philippians - Here Paul founded the first European church in Philippi and Lydia was baptised as the first European convert to Christianity
Spend our memorable day in Philippi and visit the Baptistery of Lydia for a beautiful outdoor Mass on the River Zygaktis. Contemplate St Paul’s courage at the cistern where he was imprisoned and the ancient theatre where we relive the story of his arrest, imprisonment and miraculous release. Enjoy free time here to take in the absorbing atmosphere.
Mass Setting: Baptistry of Lydia

Day 10: KAVALA TO THESSALONIKI (BD)
The Thessalonians - The Apostle was so well received here by the Gentiles, that it caused the Jews to riot and force Paul to flee for his safety
Trailing Paul’s ancient route, we travel east via Amphipolis and come across the ruins of many Christian basilicas. Into the glorious city of Thessaloniki where St Paul established the first Christian Church in Europe, we explore incredible sites including St Demetrios’ Church and the Rotunda where we see pieces of the pulpit from which Paul preached. Visit also Vlatadon Monastery before our farewell dinner back at the hotel.
Mass Setting: Immaculate Conception Cathedral

Day 11: DEPART GREECE (B)

“My respect for St Paul was enhanced by his dogged determination and belief in what he was preaching. He was a smart … determined man.” — Ian Ronchi
