Dear friends,

Last month over 3,000 Australians attended the World Youth Day 2023 event in Lisbon.

We invited you to pray for a blessed, safe and fruitful journey for all those travelling. We are writing to say thank you and to share with you some of the responses from the young people and photos from the event.

It was a privilege for Harvest to be involved in this mission for the Church and knowing we had so many friends supporting us with prayer was a great comfort.

We pray that the experiences of so many young people at WYD continue to bear lasting fruit for the Church.

Testimonials

  • “The trip was full of small moments where I experienced Christ, and that is something I am thankful for, and needed, and will bring back to my family, friends, parish and community.”

    Daniel, Archdiocese of Brisbane
  • “The WYD journey was the most remarkable journey of my life so far. The people, the places and most of all to be able to attend the Papal Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome will always be a core memory!!”

    Jennifer, Archdiocese of Sydney
  • “It was amazing to be surrounded by so many other Catholic youth!”

Jessica, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn
  • “The time spent in Fatima was an absolute highlight. What an extraordinary place… to encounter God’s action in the world through the love of Our Mother.”

    Sam, Archdiocese of Hobart
  • “During Adoration at the WYD Vigil, more than one million individuals stood/knelt in complete silence. As a classroom teacher, it is difficult to even get 30 young learners to stay completely silent. Mind was blown.”

    Jeremy, Sydney Catholic Schools
  • “WYD was really an unbelievable and life changing experience. It really has strengthened my faith and has increased my curiosity to learn more. I am so grateful I made the decision to go and to have met such lovely people who I can literally call my second family in Christ.”

    Adelina, Archdiocese of Sydney
  • “Travelling through the Holylands was such a beautiful experience. Jerusalem is so interesting & obviously such a spiritual place.”

    Emma, Diocese of Wagga Wagga
  • “Meeting my friends for life, they were the most incredible part.”

    Natasha, Archdiocese of Sydney
