The miraculous story of the Virgin of Guadalupe who appeared to indigenous peasant, Juan Diego is revered throughout the Americas. A doubting Archbishop was convinced of the apparitions when Juan Diego, instructed by Our Lady, presented him with Castilian roses in winter, which are not found in Mexico, as well as an inexplicable image of the Virgin Mary imprinted on Juan’s cloak, known as a tilma. This miraculous tilma is viewed by over 20 million people who visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe each year.

DAY 1ARRIVAL IN MEXICO CITY

Mexico City is one of the world’s great capitals. The size and grandeur of the city is staggering, with astonishing historical sites, awesome ancient ruins and meticulously restored centuries old colonial buildings, churches and mansions. Parks, plazas and grandiose monuments are found throughout the city.

DAY 2MEXICO CITY SIGHTSEEING

Today, we explore Mexico City, starting with a visit to Catedral Metropolitana in the bustling public plaza of Zócalo. From here, we move on to one of Mexico’s most important archaeological sites; Templo Mayor, then visit the grand Palacio Nacional. Celebrate Mass at the Templo de la Enseñanza, followed by visits to Iglesia de San Francisco de Asis and Parroquia de la Sagrada Familia, the shrine to Bl. Miguel Pro SJ. Make our first visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

DAY 3MEXICO CITY TO SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

Travel to the enchanting town of San Miguel Allende and celebrate Mass at La Parroquia. Our sightseeing includes the Templo de la Concepción, Templo de San Francisco and Nuestra Señora de la Salud.

Day 4 SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE TO GUANAJUATO VIA ATOLONICO

Visit the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, and continue to Guanajuato, where we will visit the Sanctuary of Cristo Rey for Mass.

Day 5 GUANAJUATO TO GUADALAJARA VIA SAN JUAN DE LOS LAGOS

Start with Mass at the Cathedral Basilica de San Juan de los Lagos & Marian Shrine. From here we will tour the Jalisco State countryside, visiting Tepatitlá, Santa Ana de Guadalupe, and Santuario de Santo Toribio Romo.

Day 6 GUADALAJARA SIGHTSEEING

Today we will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption in central square and celebrate Mass at the Templo Expiatorio (of the Blessed Sacrament).

Day 7 MORE OF GUADALAJARA

Visit the Templo de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, rebuilt from a 17th-century chapel, and also visit today the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and the Museum of the Cristero Martyrs.

Day 8 SAHUAYO

Celebrate Mass at Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Zapopan, home to Nuestra Señora de Zapopan. Continue to the city of Sahuayo, where we will visit Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol, the place of martyrdom of 15-year-old San José Sánchez del Río.

Day 9 GUADALAJARA VIA ZAMORA TO PÁTZCUARO

Make our way to Pátzcuaro, where we visit the Diocesan Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe for Mass.
Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in Pátzcuaro.

Day 10PÁTZCUARO TO GUADALUPE

We visit the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Salud and celebrate Mass at the tomb of the saintly bishop Vasco de Quiroga (1488-1565), before a cruise through the canals.
